My First Stick

On December the 23rd 2010, when I was 6. Dad Jeremy, Jabin and me went hunting in the bush be hide our house. The dogs that we brang were my dog Socks and Jabins bog Mouse.

As soon as the dogs jumped of the jeep, and ran into the bush we knew that they were on a pig. In about 5 minutes Jabin and I jumped of the jeep and went about 10 meters into the bush. But just then we heard grunting of a pig. I quickly got my walky talky out and said to dad “ we've got a big one”. Jabin and I started to walk into the bush more. Then Jabin had his walky talky in his hand, and I said to him “ tall Jeremy and My dad to hurry up we don’t know the way”. so he told them. Next thing you know Jabin and I are on the ground we had gotten bollen over by our parents.

When we got up we followed our parents to the pig. Then dad said, “ who wants to stick the pig” I replied “ I will” Then dad said again, “ hurry up it is going to be your first time to ever stick a pig this size”. Before I stuck it we had to get the dogs Socks and Mouse of the pig so I don’t stab them. Once the dogs were of, I got my knife out and pushed as hard a I could into the pig's throat. When the pig had died I pulled my knife out. All this blood was pouring out everywhere. Dad and Jeremy both gave Jabin and I a handshake and said “ well done”. When we had put the pig on the back of the jeep I said to dad “ my knife is sharp as”. He replied “ that's because I sharpened it”.

When we got back to my house dad took the pig to the butcher. Jeremy and Jabin stayed for dinner. And guess what we had for dinner. We had pork.

Rock This Party

This morning, Room 3 and Room 4 went into the hall to learn some new dance moves. The instructor's name was Kate. She was a really good dancer. I felt happy that I had learned some new moves.

Pictures in the Mind

I have been practising using words in my writing that give readers pictures in their minds.
On the 14th of November 2013, our school had our Athletics Day. We had some events like Long Jump, High Jump, Sprints and Shot Put.
The first event we did was shot put. When the 9 year old girls and boys had run as fast as a rocket to the Shot Put, we all had to write our names on the big lined piece of paper.
When it was my turn, I picked up the put, shaped like a circle. I said, “This is so heavy, it feels like lead.”
When I threw the heavy put, I thought I might hit Karen, the instructor. I didn’t hit her. That was lucky. After a few tiring throws, the hooter went and it sounded like a fire siren.
